Summer Vacation

I might be jumping the gun here but I'm really looking forward to summer. My summers as a child were like a dream and seemingly endless. I never did summer camps (except for the one summer I went to horse back riding camp and quit early because I couldn't muster up the courage to gallop) so my summers were spent with a lot of good books and games of capture the flag. My best friend Kate and I would spend our days turning her magnolia tree into a house, playing games in the pool, eating ice cream, and having sleepovers. Even though I'm long past the days of real summer vacations (I promise you, summers off is not why I am becoming a teaching...okay maybe it's one of the reasons why...) I still can't shake that excitement and anticipation of the summer season.

(p.s. yes, that is a picture of my dad and I. I can't tell if I'm happy or sad in this photo. Probably a little of both...I'm assuming I wasn't a fan of the sticky popsicle.)
