Yesterday I promised I would show you the sculpture that, for me, was influenced by Barbara Hepworth's work (which, by the way, I had only realized because it was pointed out to me during our group critique at the time). It was the sculpture that made me fall in love with wood and was also, unfortunately, the last sculpture I worked on before I graduated (and had to give up studio access at the university...the downside of graduating). I never came up with a title for it, because for me it had no well thought out purpose. It was a design that I just really wanted to work with and eventually it evolved from the original sketch to what you see here.
